This print reproduces an illustration from the very first Babar book, "The Story of Babar the Little Elephant," published in 1931. Cécile de Brunhoff dreamed up the beloved character while telling her children bedtime stories. Her husband Jean later brought the little elephant to life, illustrating that first adventure for their family.
